Lead Guide Travis Buckley

Born in the Blind

Travis Buckley grew up hunting the flooded timber and rice fields of the Grand Prairie before he was old enough to carry his own shotgun. With over 20 years of guiding experience and access to thousands of acres of private hunting land, he knows this flyway like the back of his hand.

Whether you're a seasoned waterfowler chasing greenheads in the flooded oaks or a first-timer looking to experience world-class duck hunting, Travis and his team will put you on birds.

Our operation runs two trained Labrador retrievers, premium Avery and GHG decoy spreads, and blinds built for comfort on cold Delta mornings.

★★★★★

"Best duck hunting I've ever experienced. Travis had us in the flooded timber before first light and the mallards were cupped and committed all morning. Limited out by 8:30. The dogs were incredible."

"Brought my two sons down from Michigan for their first 'real' duck hunt. Travis was patient, put us on birds, and the boys are already asking when we're going back. First-class operation from start to finish."

"We've hunted with a lot of outfitters in Arkansas and Buckshot is the real deal. No crowds, private land, and Travis can call a mallard into your lap. The rice field setup for specks was unbelievable."

Licensing & Regulations

All hunters are required to have a valid Arkansas hunting license, Arkansas waterfowl stamp, Federal duck stamp, and HIP certification before arriving. Non-resident licenses can be purchased online through the AGFC website.

Arkansas enforces a daily bag limit set by the USFWS. Limits vary by species and are subject to change each season. We'll confirm current limits when you book. All hunters must use non-toxic shot only (steel, bismuth, or tungsten). Lead shot is prohibited for waterfowl hunting nationwide.

Need help getting your licenses squared away? Give us a call and we'll walk you through it in 10 minutes.

Policies

Deposits

A $100 per hunter non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. Balance is due the evening before your hunt. We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and all major credit cards.

Cancellations

Cancel 14+ days out for a full deposit refund. Inside 14 days, deposit is forfeited unless we can rebook the date. Weather cancellations are at the guide's discretion — full refund or reschedule.

Gratuity

Tips are never expected — but always appreciated. The industry standard is 15–20% of the hunt cost for great service. Don't forget the dog handler if applicable.

Safety

Safety is non-negotiable. All hunters must demonstrate safe gun handling. The guide reserves the right to end any hunt if safety protocols aren't followed. Hunter orange is required when walking to and from blinds.
